"The Source" was released in 1984 by Osamu Kitajima, a Japanese new age/ambient composer who emigrated to the U.S. in the 1970's. Among others, the album features contributions from Victor Feldman, David Mansfield, Michael Fishera, Richard Elliot and jazz harpist Drothy Ashley. Kitajima has released a number of works that integrate traditional Japanese instruments such as Koto, Biwa, Shakuhachi and Tsuzumi with Western music.
