KRONOS QUARTET : BLACK ANGELS [Electra-Nonesuch]

The talented and imaginative Kronos Quartet' "Black Angels" includes, and was named after, George Crumb's 1970 composition Black Angels, that had inspired David Harrington to found the Kronos Quartet in 1973. With an overall theme of war and persecution linking the works, the album opens with George Crumb’s Black Angels  for electric string quartet, a vividly descriptive work inspired by the Vietnam war.
